La Meditation Bouddhique; Etude de sa theorie et de sa pratique selon l'Ecole du Sud
Paris: Librairie D'Amerique & D'Orient, Adrien-Maisonneuve, 1935. First French Edition. Ocatvo. 19cm. Publisher's original bright orange wraps titled in black to spine and front panel. Glassine dustjacket. 178pp.;[1]. Bright and strong, with some light toning to the spine panel and some light wear to extremities, very pretty; internall clean and fresh although uniformly toned due to rather cheap paper quality. A very good smart copy.
Grace Constant Lounsbery was a rather bohemian early 20th lesbian century playwright and poet, lover of Gertrude Stein, graduate of Bryn Mawr, and founder of a rather esoteric school of Buddhism in France in 1929, from which this title arises. Part of the Parisian literary intelligentsia, she also held regular salon evenings, and is credited with introducing Ernest Hemingway to Ezra Pound at one of these events.
