A Fine copy. The lithograph was part of Shahn's Nine Drawings Portfolio, which included portraits of Martin Luther King, Jr., and others. "This portrait, and that of Rev. Martin Luther King are larger than the other portraits in this portfolio, and consequently seem to have a greater importance when all are viewed together. The determined features of this handsome young man and the affirmation "we shall overcome" suggest the strength and confidence of the 1960s civil rights movement" (PRESCOTT 108). 90282.
