Though now known primarily as a writer of speculative and supernatural fiction, Barker wrote, by his own estimation, "dozens" of pieces on Bukowski in the early- to mid-Eighties. This brief, self-published memoir, recounting in detail the event described in the title, was the first. Though typically catalogued as a "signed, limited edition," the prospectus makes no mention of all copies being signed, and we suspect most such copies were signed at readings, not upon publication.
