[viii];[1];127pp.;[1];56pp.;errata.Some mild soiling of the cloth, bumping to corners and spine ends, but otherwise tight, strong and handsome; internally clean with frontispiece and tissue guard, edges untrimmed on a very tall copy, some very light marginal spotting in places. With 2 landscape plates, two portrait engravings of Robert Wharton and Jonas Cattell, and with the oft-absent St Mimot portrait of Governor Morris present in this copy, with tissue guards. A very good unsophisticated copy indeed in original cloth. Housed in a tailor made red cloth slipcase and chemise with black leather title label.
A significant piece of early sporting literature celebrated in the pages of both Gee, and Phillips, as being an important contribution to US fishing knowledge and culture, with the addition of being more often than not bound in with "Memoirs of The Gloucester Fox Hunting Club", which constitutes the US's first hunting club and indeed fox-hunting memoir.
