An organizing pamphlet for the National Maritime Union, issued as NMU "Educational Pamphlet" no. 1. Highlights the accomplishments of the Union in raising wages and improving working conditions for American seamen. Huberman's authorship is not credited anywhere in the text, though by this time he had achieved some prominence as a left commentator and economist. The inscribee, "Gert," is Huberman's first wife Gertrude Huberman (née Heller).
