A brilliant, quirky, prototypically outsiderish work by the Baltimore alt-music and art duo of Charles Brohawn and Chris Mason, who joined to form the band The Tinklers in 1977, achieving a sort of cult status that has been maintained over five decades through very occasional live performances, recordings, and publications. The current work is a small-scale reproduction of a 50-foot long painted panel the band produced for a performance of the same name, ca. 1980, in which the duo "...constructed a 50-foot-long time line...and performed while walking along it, stopping at various points and performing songs related to that moment in history" (from band biography by Stewart Mason at blog "I Hate the 90's"). The print run is uncertain, but likely small; OCLC notes five holdings only in North America (including MoMA); very infrequent in commerce.
