Loyalty in America
Berkeley & Los Angeles, CA: University of California Press, 1957. First American Edition. Octavo. 23cm. Publisher's black cloth titled and decoreated in gilt and blind to spine and front board. Dusjacket. 217pp. Very light wear, a touch of bumping to the head of the spine and some minor scuffing in places; internally clean and fresh, a little toning to page edges; in a clean, sharp example of the dustjacket with some shallow fraying and wear to spine ends and a little sunning to the spine panel. A very good, clean copy indeed.
From the library of Nathaniel Tarn, noted poet, translator, and anthropologist, with a small sheaf of his notes laid in at the front. An examination of the nature of the concept of "loyalty", and in particular how it pertains to the individualistic nature of the American social structure.
