In the original dustwrapper; all four corners clipped by publisher (as always), with $2.50 price intact on front flap; slightly dust-soiled, with two old clear tape reinforcements to verso; small losses at crown of spine, front flap fold and rear panel (not affecting any lettering); about VG.

The second volume of Herbst's proletarian trilogy, which included Pity Is Not Enough (1933) and Rope of Gold (1939). The novel deals with a large, middle class American family, set after the Armistice of 1918. "Condemns the economic condition after the war - days which saw strikes, unrest, and the I.W.W."
