Essentially an encyclopaedia of Goddesses and female deities, detailing their origins, forms, methods of worship and their applicability to the witchcraft concept of the divine feminine. Throughout the 1970's and 80's the Farrar's were the popular face, readily available from W.H. Smiths on the high street and from your book club, of Wicca and Witchcraft in the UK, and were probably almost single handedly responsible for a significant witchcraft revival and contributed to the eventual mainstreaming of alternative belief systems like Wicca, and other progressive forms of witchcraft.
