Cécile Reims; Graveur
Paris: Editions Cercle D'Art, 2000. First Edition. Quarto. 29.5cm. Publisher's pale card wraps. 175pp.; [1]. Clean and bright, some minor cosmetic creasing to the lower edge and some light scuffing to the covers; internally clean and fresh. A very good, attractive copy. Text in French.
An impressive retrospective of the hugely influential but much overlooked French engraver Cécile Reims [1927-2020], who quite aside from being a survivor of the Nazi atrocities, and a member of the French Resistance during WW2, was a major collaborator with the opaque and controversial artist Hans Bellmer, working with him on over 250 pieces between 1967 and 1975.
