Includes numbered pages of text, with 125 numbered and complete photographic plates. Inscribed by author on front endpaper: "John Madison Taylor with the kind regard of his friend George McClellan February 1901". Gift inscription inked below: "To my nephew Francis Henry Taylor thou whom no one will be better able than he to appreciate the value of this book from his affectionate Uncle John Dec 20 1920". Modest shelf-wear and soil, with rubbing and tiny tears to cloth at spine ends and board edges, and occasional marginal soil; Very Good.
