Quite nice copy of this desirable history, with much on the early development of baseball in the Ivy Leagues beginning with the first recorded game on the Yale campus in 1859. The ownership signature is that of Frederick Starkweather Chase (1862-1947), of the prominent Waterbury (Connecticut) manufacturing family; Chase makes several appearances within the text, having placed among the top finishers in the Intercollegiate Lawn-Tennis Tournament for 1885, 1886, and 1887.
