Crudely-designed broadside promoting the West Side Festival of the Streets, held 12pm - 12am on Saturday September 19, 1970 between Amsterdam Ave and 102nd Street, near the Frederick Douglass Playground. The Festival lined-up a series of events, speakers, and performances throughout the day, with proceeds to benefit the defense of various Panthers who were incarcerated and facing trial. Speakers included Joan Bird, Michael Tabor, Gerald Lefcourt, and Flo Kennedy; spoken word by The Last Poets; guerrilla theatre performances by the John Brown Memorial Theatre troupe; film viewings included Staggerlee and The Murder of Fred Hampton; with folk music, an art show, food and drink, live bands, and a classical music ensemble.
