A rare variant of this poster produced for the contested 1944 campaign in support of Franklin D. Roosevelt's fourth term. The poster was issued with text in at least two languages besides English: Prescott notes a variation of the poster with text in Polish ("Nasz Przyjaciel") overprinted above the child's head, citing its use in meeting halls with large numbers of Polish workers, and mentioning "no other record" of other foreign language editions printed. The present version, with text printed in Greek ("You voted for the friend of the people"), presumably not seen by him. PRESCOTT, The Complete Graphic Works of Ben Shahn 151. 82930.
