Actor's Blood

New York: Covici Friede Publishers, 1936. First American Edition. Octavo. 21cm. Publisher's heavy grain grey buckram titled and decorated in red and blind to spine and front board. Dustjacket. 273pp. Strong and tight, some light soiling of the cloth here and there with a little wear to the spine ends, in a very presentable black and red priceclipped dustjacket with some wear and fraying to the spine ends and some irritating old tape reinforcement to the verso of the dustjacket. A very presentable copy with some light wear. Internally clean, top edge stained red, with some slight toning to the page edges. Bookseller's label from the Stanley Rose bookshop to rear pastedown. A short story collection from Hecht; teenage runaway, low life aficianado, groundbreaking journalist, and one of the most successful and prolific screenwiters in Hollywood history. Hecht also ghost wrote Marilyn Monroe's autobiography "My Story", admitting during the process that he found many elements of her life story impossible to believe, coincidentally something pretty much everyone said about Hecht.
