Living the Revolution: The Yippies in Chicago
Indianapolis: Bobbs-Merrill, 1969. First Edition. First Printing. Octavo. 21cm. Publisher's vivid purple cloth titled in silver gilt to spine. Dustjacket. 146pp. Clean and [very] bright with only the lightest wear to the cloth, in a clean and equally vivd priceclipped dustjacket with some rubbing to the front panel, and some fraying and scuffing to the spine ends and extremities.
The scuffed appearance of small parts of the dustjacket is more likely due to the choice of glossy purple and red as a color scheme rather than excessive wear or reading.
An eyewitness account of the events of the Chicago Democratic Convention of 1968, which began as an intended peaceful protest and rock concert, and ended with riot cops throwing teenagers through hotel windows, the arrests and prosecution of the Chicago 7, and a significant social reversal whereby US citizens protesting injustice, corruption, and cruelty were cast as the villains of the day, and the unnecessary use of extreme force on the part of the Chicago PD was enjoyed and applauded by the majority of the conservative public.
