French poster produced in May, 1970, during Bobby Seale's incarceration in the midst of the New Haven Panther trials, calling for a "Month of Active Solidarity with the Black Panther Party." The poster features a large photo of Seale in profile, next to the following text (in translation): "We call on our class brothers and sisters in Europe to break their chains by any means necessary and join us in the fight to deal the deathblow to U.S. imperialism. The will of the people is more powerful than the technology of the masters. All power to the people! Redouble your efforts, the time has come!" The Comité de solidarité avec le B.P.P. was based out of the bookshop called Librairie Gît-le-Cœur, affiliated with the Maoist Union des jeunesses communistes marxistes-léninistes. From the address printed at the lower right corner of the poster they operated the short-lived publishing house Editions Gît-le-Cœur, bankrolled by the wealthy grandmother of Maoist activist Tiennot Grumbach. An uncommon poster; not found in OCLC.
