The Bad Seed

New York: Rinehart & Co., 1954. First Edition. First printing, with Rinehart logo on copyright page. Octavo. Cloth-backed pink paper-covered boards; dustjacket; 247pp. Typical toning at margins to the inferior text stock, else a tight, clean copy, Very Good. In the presumed first state dustwrapper, with author's portrait and no reviews on rear panel; unclipped (priced $3.00 on front flap); pink has faded to tan on spine, with titles still perfectly legible; two amateur kraft paper reinforcements laid-down to verso; else just lightly rubbed and soiled, Very Good.

March's acclaimed last book, nominated for a National Book Award and the basis for both the 1954 Maxwell Anderson play and the 1956 Code-defying film by Mervyn LeRoy, starring Nancy Kelly, Patty McCormack, and Eileen Heckart, who won an Academy Award for her supporting role. A presentable copy.

Price: $300.00
