A well-preserved issue of this magazine "combining and replacing Labor Herald, Liberator, and Soviet Russia Pictorial, this monthly became the forerunner of the Communist, official organ of the Workers (Communist) Party of America" (Goldwater 306). Contents include contributions by William Z. Foster, Thurber Lewis, Alexander Bittelman, P. Yuditch, William F. Dunne, Harrison George, Earl Browder, Tim Buck, Maurice Becker, and others. Notably, the issue contains two poems by Langston Hughes – "Drama for Winter Night (Fifth Avenue)" and "God To Hungry Child." Cover by Italian-American artist Girolamo Piccoli.
