Another Montana Pioneer

Account of Charles Evans, a Michigan-born settler to Montana in the 1860s. The "memoir" was written by Evans's daughter Clara, based on stories he told her as a child; the narrative weaves awkwardly between first- and second-person, but includes some interesting accounts of early ranch life, mostly in the Madison River Valley in the region of present-day Ennis.
