Two volumes in gilt-stamped blue cloth, top edges gilt, with red ribbon bookmarks; in original blue cloth dust jackets and blue cloth-covered slipcase; plain endpapers; I: viii,253,[1]pp; II: viii,226pp; folding color map at rear of vol. II, 50 photogravures on inserted leaves. Presentation card signed by John R. Wilson, dated 1907, laid into vol. I. A striking set with very faint rubbing to tails, one plate and leaf in vol. I neatly detached but present, tiny perforation to inner hinge of vol. II, overall Near Fine. Jackets clean, lightly rubbed, browned on versos along spines, else Near Fine. Slipcase gently rubbed, one orner bumped, Very Good.
Deluxe publication of De Amicis' account of Morocco, originally published in 1876 in Italian. De Amicis was an Italian novelist, now best known for his children's novel Cuore and his travel writing. This set uncommon in the slipcase.
