The Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) was founded by the Duke of Wellington as a British military and defence think tank. These issues of its journal Include articles on field engineering, recruitment, military geography, camp sanitation in tropical regions, ship ventilation, attack formations, "British Interference with Revolted Spanish Ships," the third Anglo-Ashanti War, and technological articles on guns, screw propellers, and an azimuth compass.
