Multiple newspaper clippings about the novel laid in at front. Sound, straight, and lightly rubbed, with discoloration to front endpapers from newspapers: Very Good. Jacket unclipped (priced $5.00), lighty rubbed with sizable chips at corners, mild dustsoil, but generally whole and clean: Very Good.

An early printing of Hall's groundbreaking and notorious work of lesbian literature, uncommon in dust jacket. This edition includes prefatory notes by the publisher and Havelock Ellis, responding to the UK obscenity trial and U.S. court case concerning the work, which was published first in the UK but ultimately banned there. This copy also includes newspaper clippings about the trials.
