Originally published in Managua the same year; the book won the Premio Casa de las Americas for 1989, was later translated to English and published as "A Patient Impatience: from Boyhood to Guerrilla, a Personal Narrative of Nicaragua's Struggle for Liberation" (Curbstone, 1992).
