Reimert, a German Reformed Church missionary and teacher of English, met his end in 1920 at the hands of an anti-Western mob at the gates of Huping Christian College, in Hunan province. This hagiography, written by the Secretary of the Board of Foreign Missions, is perhaps of most interest for the photographic documentation of American missionary education in pre-communist China.
