Black cloth-covered boards, titled in gilt on spine with decorative vignette to front cover; dustjacket; 185pp. Straight, tight copy, Near Fine but for some uneven toning to front endpapers, probably from a laid-in clipping; brief ownership signature in blue ink to front pastedown. In the original dustwrapper, just lightly worn but price-clipped on front and rear flaps by publisher, with $3.00 remainder price stamped in blue ink at upper front flap; jacket toned at extremities, slightly moreso on spine panel, where the portion of the title printed in pink has faded almost to the point of illegibility; just Very Good.

A selection of Betjeman's work assembled specifically for American readers, chosen and with an introduction by W.H. Auden. Published only in the U.S.; there was no British equivalent.
