Washington DC: Emergency Committee for Political Prisoners Rights, . Single sheet, 22cm x 36cm, accordion-folded to make an 8-pp leaflet. Portrait of Berkman on front cover. Fine.
Leaflet/mailer advocating for the release of Dr. Alan Berkman, a former Weatherman who had been convicted in 1987 for his involvement in various militant underground groups, including the Resistance Conspiracy and the May 19th Movement (two groups implicated in the 1983 U.S. Senate bombing), and for allegedly robbing a Pennsylvania grocery store in order to buy dynamite. At the time of this leaflet Berkman was suffering from Hodgkin's lymphoma and his conviction was under appeal.
