In red orange publisher's cloth, boards bevelled, titled in gilt on spine; brown coated endpapers; [1-4] 5-188, [2]; one-page prospectus requesting subscribers for McCook's next work, on American Spiders; 13 tinted lithographs, depicting ants and ant habitats. A straight copy, rubbed, especially at extremities, spine darkened, both hinges cracked through and glued; text somewhat browned, but plates bright: Good.
