In original green publisher's cloth, stamped in gold on front and spine; plain endpapers; [i-vi] vii-x, 1-370 pp; 3pp of publisher's ads at rear for other Crockett titles. With 1895 gift inscription in ink to front free endpaper. A handsome, straight copy, gently rubbed at head, tail, and corners: Very Good.

Crockett (1859-1914) was a minister in the Free Church of Scotland and a prolific sensational novelist. The Men of the Moss-Hags is a historical adventure story about covenanters; a moss-hag is a marshy pit or a hole where peat has been cut.
