In full contemporary marbled sheep, titled in gilt on red leather spine label, all edges sprinkled blue; plain endpapers; [i]-xxxvi [37] 38-355, [1], [i]-vii [8]-243, [1] pp; 14 engraved plates at rear, two additional folding tables in vol. 1. Half of plate 9 lacking, plate 13 battered at outer edge, just affecting corner of image; three-inch tear to folding table at p.324. Ex-library, with bookplate to front pastedown. Occasional contemporary ink annotation (see v.2, p.194). Binding sturdy and sound, though generally rubbed; front joint cracking; front free endpaper detached; minor foxing throughout: Good.
