A tight, straight, and attractive copy, the spine just a shade darkened but still Near Fine.

First illustrated edition of Beerbohm's celebrated modern fable, first published in The Yellow Book in 1896. Sheringham's illustrations, though somewhat anachronistic, still manage to capture the late-Decadent flavor of the tale.
