Cambridge: John Owen, 1841. Fifth edition. 12mo (17cm). In publisher's binding of gilt-decorated red-brown morocco with gilt urn devices to both covers; gilt dentelles; yellow coated endpapers; aeg. Slight rubbing to front joint; bit of flaking to gilt on front cover; mild oxidation to endpapers, still a very sound and clean copy, Very Good or better. Faint early gift inscription in ink ("To Miss J. Hillhouse from Wm. Prichard") to front free endpaper.

An unnoted and quite pretty American trade binding. BAL 12279, noting only copies in boards for this and for the 1839 first edition. This edition not in Wilson (Thirteen Author Collections) or Howe Library. The printing was presumably small, as only nine OCLC institutions have catalogued copies of the fifth edition.
