Publisher's decoratively embossed brown cloth, titled in gilt on spine; pale yellow endpapers; xiii,[1]-479; 2pp publisher's prospectus for Works of Shakespeare inserted before title page. Presentation copy, inscribed: "W.C. Lear / with the Best Wishes of W.W. Clapp," undated but apparently contemporary with publication. Chipping to spine ends and mild rubbing to joints (external); internally quite fresh and clean.
