Eyre (1888-1928) was an acclaimed foreign correspondent whose first-hand accounts of the aftermath of the October Revolution, written over a three-month period in 1920, provide invaluable insights to the early Bolshevik regime. Includes Eyre's important Feb, 1920 interview with Lenin, one of the few face-to-face interviews Lenin granted to a representative of the bourgeois press. Eyre went on to become the Berlin correspondent for the New York Times, but died suddenly of complications from a burst appendix in 1928.
