Prospectus for a Society in Boston that the author proposed would supplement the foundations of the Smithsonian Institute and the diffusion of human knowledge. Contents include introductory remarks and four essays, all signed "Franklin" at the end, generally drawing on classical and European history as the source for the improvement of American government. The Society appears to have never been formed.
