[New York? American Tract Society, ca. 1840s]. First Edition. 12mo (18.5cm.) bifolium; light wear and toning to extremities, else Very Good and sound. Short account of a Pennsylvania man who leads an ungodly life, blithely saying to all who try to lead him to the path of God that so long as he says the three words "Lord, have mercy" on his deathbed, "all would be safe for eternity." Naturally, he dies suddenly in an accident without having had time to utter these words. One copy separately catalogued in OCLC as of June, 2020, at Columbia.
