A Feminist Journal - No.1 [Cover Title] Impolite Questions About Frederick Engels

St. Paul, MN: Women Unlimited, 1970. First Edition. Slim octavo (21.75cm); mimeographed sheets, side-stapled into printed wrappers; [36]pp. Light wear to extremities, else Near Fine.

First (and possibly only) issue of this crudely-mimeographed feminist publication, composed by Susie Olah and Helen Victry. "This paper is a criticism of Frederick Engels' well-known work, The Origin of the Family, Private Property, and the State, and of currently popular interpretations of that book. In particular the paper attacks the notion that Engels proves that private property causes male supremacy. The paper is not an argument for private property, but instead a suggestion that serious women consider the alternative proposition: male supremacy causes private property, along with a number of other woes which cannot neatly be classified under that head" (from preface). OCLC notes 12 holdings.
