The Bulletin was the brain child of Virginia feminist Flora Crater, who also founded the Virginia chapter of the National Organization for Women (NOW). Crater published The Woman Activist as an information newsletter on the activities of the National Ad Hoc Committee for the Equal Rights Amendment.
