Scottish author William Black was tremendously popular in his day, often compared to contemporary Anthony Trollope. His Yolande was first published in 1883, and it appeared a serial in The Illustrated London News. This particular edition is not dated, but it is from Belford, Clarke & Company's "Caxton Edition" series, published throughout the 1880s in the United States.
