Galen L. Tait had a long and influential political career, serving as lawyer, land developer, internal revenue collector, and chairman of Maryland's Republican party (1914-1934; 1942-1948). One may see his political spirit develop in this book, which is autobiographical in nature, about his early life in Iowa and Nebraska, and his experiences prospecting land and oil in Texas, Oklahoma, and South Dakota. This particular copy was made out to a public library in Annapolis, MD.
