An anthology of passages from James Branch Cabell's Beyond Life, Figures of Earth, The Silver Stallion, Jurgen, and others in the escapist/fantasy author's extensive body of work. The Virginia-born author reached the peak of his popularity in the 1920's but hit something of a decline as the world inched closer to another World War and literary trends began favoring more realistic works. Nevertheless, he continued publishing extensively and left a legacy that remains, especially in his native Richmond.
