At the time of this book's publication, Joseph W. Jenks was Professor of Languages at Urbana University, Ohio. He produced this translated anthology of classical poems, odes and pastorals, regarding all topics rural and rustic, reportedly after a decade of preparation. Poems are presented in double columns and are arranged by season and month, accompanied by several b/w engraved text-illustrations. Also with a thorough glossary, index, and annotations.
