Jacket extremities a bit chipped and rubbed with a few tiny tears and subsequent creasing, red portion of spine sunned, slight spine lean, corners gently bumped, else Very Good and sound.

Typescript notes tipped to front free endpaper and pastedown, the former reading "This is an advance copy of A NATION OF NATIONS. / With the compliments of Louis Adamic"; the latter reads "To Americans of FRISIAN Origin or Descent: The chapter 'Americans from Holland' in A NATION OF NATIONS -- one of the longest in the book -- contains a good deal of material on the Frisian element in the United States. It was incorporated into the chapter with the cooperation of Mr. B. Fridsma of Grand Rapids, with whom I have been in contact for some years. (Of course Mr. Fridsma is not responsible for the way the material is handled. / It is believed this is the first time the Frisian Americans are recognized in a book intended for the general American public. / Louis Adamic / Milford, New Jersey." This copy additionally inscribed and signed, "For Mr. B. Fridsma / Gratefully, Louis Adamic / 1945." The B. Fridsma referred to is presumably Bernard J. Fridsma (1905-2005), a Holland émigré to Grand Rapids sometime before 1935.
