Dashiel Hammett's Secret Agent X-9 detective comic strip, drawn by Alex Raymond (Flash Gordon) was devised by King Features Syndicate in 1933, as a competitor to the popular Dick Tracy. Increasingly dissatisfied with the way his work was being handled by editorial staff, Hammett left King Features in 1934 and the comic was eventually retitled "Secret Agent Corrigan", which ran until 1996. This book contains all four of Hammett's Secret Agent X-9 comic serials (in b/w), plus a fifth written by Leslie Charteris (The Saint).
