Originally written in 1602 by prolific Elizabethan writer and inventor Sir Hugh Plat, this book contains recipes for preserves, distilled goods, cosmetics, cleaners, and more, as well as helpful hints for the 17th century housewife. Includes b/w reproductions of the original title page, dedication, and the first page of each division. Archaic terms and spellings throughout the text are clarified with a modern glossary.
