Account of the Irish Rebellion of 1798 by the Catholic historian, published by the Irish Catholic Angel Guardian Press. Though sympathetic to the Irish cause, the author argues that "Every sincere friend of the people deplores the existence of this revolutionary tendency and would counsel moderate methods of seeking redress of grievances. Yet this spirit of revolt will cease only when statesmen will condescend to legislate in the interest of the dependent classes..." (p. v).
