The British physician Elizabeth Blackwell founded the Infirmary in 1857 where she began lecturing to women on the study of medicine, her name appearing at the head of the Faculty Members on p. [3]. A list of the graduates for the years 1870 to 1873 includes students hailing from as far as Iowa, Kansas, and Illinois and among the theses listed are studies on hysteria, syphilis, and menorrhagia. Octavo (23cm.); publisher's grey-green wrappers printed within typographically decorative border; 15pp. Wrappers a bit discolored, tiny loss at top fore-edge corner of front cover, shallow strip neatly cut away from rear wrapper, else Very Good and sound overall.
