Scarce early American edition of the first half of "God and the State" (the second half only posthumously published in 1908), reprinted from the London Anarchist Groups edition of 1893, which was itself reprinted from Benjamin Tucker's edition of that same year, and including the preface by Carlo Cafiero and Elisée Reclus. The anarchist Free Society Library, which appeared irregularly from 1898 to 1900, would also publish Kropotkin's "Anarchism" and "Anarchist Morality" (both in 1898).
