Attractive copy of Darrow's fictionalized memoir of his Ohio boyhood, first published by McClurg in 1904. Though it went throught seven editions, the book was never a commercial success, which pained Darrow, who felt it was his finest book. The present copy is the first printing of the Boni & Liveright edition, one which quickly went into successive printings. HUNSBERGER 176.
