Original lithograph certificate (57x35.5cm.) glued to mount (63.5x35.5), certificate printed in black on heavy cream stock, accomplished in calligraphic manuscript and hand-colored, with mounted original silver gelatin photographic portrait lozenge (7.5cm in diameter). Some light toning along extremities, verso (blank) suffering from frame burn, else Very Good and sound.
Initiation certificate to BRT member William Walter Spatz of the William Penn, 172, in Reading, PA. The head of the certificate shows an engine steaming past a grassy field (the engine only partly hand-colored red), over which is mounted Spatz's photographic portrait.
